We tackle issues related to traffic management, ITS, and other traffic concerns. Our proposals for new developments are founded on the insights and experience acquired from fieldwork in road traffic and collaborative research with universities and other institutions over the years. For more details, please refer to our research achievements on this website.

1. Traffic Signal Control

(1) Identification and examination of challenges in current control methods such as program selection and formation methodology.

(2) Research into innovative techniques, including the sequential optimization of control parameters, signal timings, and efforts to minimize environmental impact.

(3) Leveraging probe information for offline signal control, and more.

2. Generation of Traffic Information

(1) Identification and examination of challenges in generating traffic information, including congestion and travel times.

(2) Estimation and forecasting of travel times using vehicle detector information and sparse probe data.

(3) Predicting travel times on routes that lack vehicle detector data during atypical traffic situations.

3. Analysis of Driver Behavior through Driving Simulators

(1) Understanding a driver's decision-making process when deciding whether to proceed or halt at intersections in dilemma zones.

(2) Assessing the impact of conveying information to conditionally automated vehicles.
